Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BE ON THE TEAM?

A: All club and show team members pay an annual $45 club fee. In addition, riders who show pay any associated registration and show fees. Please see the breakdown of costs sheet in new rider info.

Q: I DON’T HAVE A LOT OF RIDING EXPERIENCE, CAN I STILL SHOW?

A: Yes! IHSA offers classes for beginner riders, and our team needs riders of all levels to fill each class at shows.

Q: DO I NEED A HORSE TO JOIN?

A: No. The team practices on school horses and at competitions everyone rides the host school’s horses, which are drawn out of a hat at the show.

Q: ARE RIDING LESSONS FREE?

A: Unfortunately, no. Lessons cost $45 per group lesson. Club members don’t have to take any riding lessons, but show team members are required to take a weekly lesson with the team coach during show season. We try to offset this cost by doing as much fundraising as possible.

Q: ARE MEETINGS MANDATORY?

A: Yes, attendance of the weekly meetings is mandatory for all club and show team members. Additionally, show team members are required to attend practices and take a weekly lesson.

Q: WHEN ARE PRACTICES/MEETINGS?

A: Team practice runs from 5-8:30 every Wednesday at Fieldstone Farm in St. Joseph. Team meetings occur during the last 30-45 minutes of practice.

Q: HOW DO I SIGN-UP/JOIN?
